Glacier Coons is located in North West Montana on the border of Glacier National Park nestled in a forest of Cedar trees and with lots of natural springs. We have wildlife for neighbors including Grizzly and Black bears, Wolverines, Cougars, Lynx, Bobcat, Snowshoe Hairs, Bald Eagles, Pine Martins, Mule Deer, White Tail Deer, Elk, Moose, a couple varieties of Grouse, Shrews, Wood rats , wolf pack, chipmunks, and assortment of other creatures. The cats love to watch the chipmunks and hummingbirds in spring.

My cattery started in 1997 after I had done research about Maine Coons. I had a cat who adopted me and found an almost identical picture of him in cat book which was a Maine Coon, he probably wasn't a Maine but I owe it to him to lead me this special cats. . I have always loved cats especially long haired cats and love dogs too, we have 5 dogs here the Coons allow them to share their house with. I loved the heritage of the Maine Coons being the first American Cat breed, noted for big boned, long short fur, lynx tipped ears and big feet. My first girls were rare colors of Shaded Silver, Shaded Golden and Black Smoke. Today you can see my 4 girls that carry on those traits and my new addition of Polydactyl, there is more information on the mitten paws under Polydactyl. I always breed for health first and to Maine Coon Breed Standards. I have just added our new Prince, future stud cat Audie P he is a Polydactyl (mitten pawed) solid black male. I am registered with CFA and  TICA . I am also a member of the Native Maine Coon Cat Association. I do test for HCM, FHD, SMA, PKD, Felv, FIV. You can see more about all those on the Health page and each of my breeding cats results are listed on there pages along with there pedigrees. We are a small cattery, breeding is a hobby and to preserve the Maine Coons, we only breed selectively so we do not have kittens all of the time. All of our cats are a part of our household under our feet and on the couch and sleep were they please. We are a semi-closed cattery meaning we do not allow visiting cats and quarantine all new cats/kittens that come to us, the reason I say semi is all of our cats including breeding stock are a part of our house and friends & family visit and socialize with them.

Check our news section for what is new around the cattery. We also have some of our cats pictures on items for sale. Please check out the links below for more information on the cat fancy groups we belong to. We have more great links under links.

We are a SMA free cattery.
