Maine Coon Cat Colors

Maine Coons come in a variety of colors. The only unacceptable colors are Points like the Oriental and Himalayans. They come in Solid Black, Blue, Cream, Red & White. Bi-Colors Black & White, Blue & White, Cream & White, and Red & White. Shaded Colors can be with white also Black Smoke, Blue Smoke, Tortie Smoke, Cream Smoke, Red Smoke, Shaded Silver, Shaded Blue Silver, Shaded Cream Cameo, Shaded Cameo, Blue Cream Smoke, Shell Caemo, Shell Silver, Chinchilla, Red Chinchilla, Shaded Golden. Tabbies come in 3 different patterns with 2 common ones the Classic and Mackerel. They also can be with with White, Brown, Blue, Blue Silver, Cream, Cameo, Cream Cameo, Red, Silver, Brown Patched, Blue Patched, Silver Patched, Blue Silver Patched. They come in Parti Colors Tortieshell, Blue Cream, Calico, Tortie with White, Blue Cream Calico, Blue Cream with White and Calico Van. There are also High White tabbies which have a large white bib look. A Calico has over 1/3 white. Male Calicos are very rare. There are also ticked tabbies in a variety of colors.

Smoke Shaded and Chinchillas

All have white or cream under coats. Smokes have the most coloring on the ends of the fur, shaded have even less and Chinchillas (shells) have the least about coloring.

I work with the rare colors and I find them the most interesting. I love the shaded, smokes and chinchillas. I also have a  love  for the high whites but have choice not to work with them.
